Market & Johnson led an expansive 70,000 square foot remodel and addition to the existing library that included a complete interior remodel with new and more energy-efficient MEP systems and a new fire suppression system. Geothermal wells were added to further improve the facility's energy efficiency. In addition to the remodeling, a new 6,800 square foot third story was added to accommodate program space and art galleries. Overall, the facility's new spaces will include a 200-seat program space, a larger children's program space, a mix of meeting rooms, quiet areas for study, tweens and teens space, and a learning lab. These new spaces will enhance open access to cost-free collections and collaborative spaces, support more community engagement opportunities and provide areas for specialized technology and art equipment to support maker sessions and STEAM-based education.
