Market & Johnson began construction for Winona County’s jail in October 2021. The new Class III Jail facility with 80 beds is located North of downtown Winona’s existing law enforcement center. The 57,453 sq. ft. project encompasses a 42,375 sq. ft. addition and 15,078 sq. ft. of renovations to the existing facility. The new construction connects to the existing underground tunnel and provides a staff connection to the existing building. In addition, the current law enforcement building renovations provide accessible public restrooms, public video visitation, and a dispatch center that serves as master control of the jail.
